Pray for Snow

Unseasonably warm temperatures have descended upon Europe, raising the mercury and keeping the usually snow capped mountains green. Just one week away from the start of six December World Cup events, the first two events in Val Thorens, France have been cancelled due to lack of snow. ( See the FIS media release here.)

I have been training in Pitztal, Austria for the past three weeks on a full length Ski Cross course with almost every World Cup and Europa Cup team in the world. We had scheduled a few days in Annecy (now) to get my new Karbon Ski Cross race suit made and fit by Jonathan & Fletcher prior to travelling to Club Med at Val Thorens on Sunday.

Now our plans regarding racing have changed, but so far our travel plans have remained the same. Other nations will go 'home' and train whilst we, among other intercontinental teams, remain

'on the road'. Team Australia will head to Val Thorens to hopefully do some on snow training and I am sure tonnes of gym training... And we will await the fate of our next proposed World Cup stops in Arosa, Switzerland, Montafon, Austria and Innichen/San Candido, Italy.

Fingers crossed we can race soon!! In the meantime, enjoy some snaps from Pitztal and Annecy!

Sami x
