Training and Racing in Australia

I have been training up a storm in Jindabyne! My Strength & Conditioning training has remained the primary focus, with 1-3 days on snow per week. I have enjoyed being back on snow and feel I am starting to break some old (bad) habits in my skiing.

Ski & Snowboard Australia have appointed a new Alpine Director, Mick Branch. Mick was one of my first ski coaches as a young tacker at Sport and Rec Race Club. Mick has taken some time to come skiing with Shawn and I to bring some specific Alpine techincal advice to Team Sami. Thank for your help, Mick!

I got back in the Ski Cross start gate about 10 days ago at Mt. Buller for the first two Australia New Zealand Continental Cup (ANC) Ski Cross races. It was so great to have some athletes come and try real Ski Cross racing for the first time, as well as racing with our Europa Cup level athletes. The vibe was fantastic, athletes were having fun and progressing really well! I was happy to have won both of the races and look forward to racing in Mt Hotham next week for the next stage of the ANC cup. Shout out to my Wax Wizard Craig Branch for ensuring I used the correct product for the conditions ;-)

I have been visited by my manager Ryan from Blue Chip Talent here in Jindabyne. It was great to spend some time together and continue to build our great relationship. If you have any enquiries, click here to get in contact!

Looking forward to the racing next week- The rain has set in here and is set to turn to snow shortly so looks like I will be in the gym until I head to Hotham. Lucky John Marsden is here to push me the extra mile in my sessions! I have posted some videos on my Instagram and Facebook pages, including some sweet training with lights! CLICK HERE TO SEE!
