First Turns at Perisher

It has been great to move back to Jindabyne for the cooler Winter months and resume my full time work with the New South Wales Institute of Sport. I work full-time and train full-time and needless to say I am tired! But working full-time is essential for me to fund my career- Olympic Qualifications begin in December! It is an important time in my career so I am working hard in the gym and limiting my time on snow (just for now) until I know my body is ready to repeat high performance training sessions.

I did go up last week for my first turns at Perisher and had a ball. I did about 15 runs and then jumped in the car and back to work. Jan Vokaty snapped some great pics of my first turns for the Aussie winter- I have posted a few and you can click this link to see more!

As a teenager I spent some time training at Thredbo Ski Racing Club and was proud to be invited up to their clubhouse on Saturday to celebrate all of TSRC's Olympians. I am now on the wall of the clubhouse along side some Australian greats like Kim Clifford, Michael Milton and Jono Brauer.
I am looking forward to increasing the volume of my on snow training next week but for now its life between the gym and the office!
Happy Skiing!
